I want to share this important change in my life, as I am aware that many of you have been inspired by my vegan lifestyle.
A few months ago I started introducing some animal foods into my diet like eggs, ghee, goat cheese and fish.

It had been craving eggs and fish. I was feeling like I wasn’t nourishing my body the way I needed.
I was vegan for almost 6 years and at the beginning I really felt great, but for the last year I have been feeling bloated all the time which is painful and uncomfortable, plus I could tell my skin was very dry no matter how many hydrating skin products I was using and how much I was hidrating.

Everything started when my husband Mau (he’s been plant-based for 5 years) was feeling lethargic, bloated and with no energy. While Camila and I were in Tulum this summer, he tried out the bullet proof diet, he started to feel great.

I was skeptical about this change and I have to admit that I even judged him for introducing some eggs, fish and dairy into his diet.

I was feeling more and more the need to introduce some animal products into my diet but I was feeling so bad; mixed emotions and contradictory thoughts in my head.

At this point, Mau was feeling better and better and kept telling me how this new diet was changing how he was feeling and looking.

Long story short, I started adding ghee to my morning turmeric tea and eating a couple of organic free range eggs once a week.
I couldn’t believe how good I felt, so I tried eating fish as well. My bloating, my skin and everything completely changed for the better.

I’m not ready to eat meat and I think I won’t be, I don’t crave it. But transitioning to pesqueterian diet has been nourishing my body for me to feel great again.

I think we should not label ourselves in such confined boxes. We are changing every day and our needs keep changing as we are aging. I’m not the same person I was 6 years ago...

Camila has eaten some cheese. She doesn’t like the taste of salmon and we haven’t tried eggs with her so far but we will.

As a conscious family we are still worried about how animal industry destroys our planet and how our oceans are being damaged by the fish industry and pollution.
That’s why our animal products consumption is small and from sustainable sources.

I don’t want to discourage anyone that is vegan or plant-based to change their mind. I am going through this change which is also completely conscious and meditated, as it was when I became vegan. I just have to be completely honest and share this with all of you.

I also know that you might feel kind ofdisappointed reading this, the same way I did when many of the vegan or plant-based persons I followed stopped being vegan. But we are human beings and it’s ok to change our minds in order to be more healthy and happy making conscious choices.

We are still eating a 80% plant based diet. And I’ll start sharing some of my recipes like I did in the past with my vegan lifestyle.

Sending you lots of love,

Marcela
